CHAPTER 1
On April 20, 2010, the Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig Exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, killing 11 platform workers. The resulting Oil Disaster spilled an unknown amount of oil into the waters of the Gulf. As the mass of oil spread, entire ecosystems, and ways of life are in jeopardy. WA2S.org and Kinship Circle ventured to the Gulf Coast to document what was happening to the animals caught in the oil's destructive path.
CHAPTER 2
On July 5, 2010, on Pass Christian Beach in MS, our team encountered the Institute for marine mamml Studies removing a deceased dolphin from the beach. This event is just one fo the many encounters with wildlife and the organizations involved with the clean-up of this disaster. The song for the WA2S.org AEOTGE Chapter 2 expresses our feelings perfectly - "Hey Kids. Watcha Say, Don't just Stand there open up your hearts and make a change."
